Tell us which systems you're running and where the numbers stop lining up. We'll come back with a clear read on what's causing it and what fixing it would involve.

A free 30-minute discovery call
No deck, no pitch. We'll talk through your systems, where the numbers stop agreeing, and who owns them — and give you an honest read on whether it's a modelling, a governance or a process problem. If a scoped Diagnostic would help from there, we'll say so; if not, we'll point you somewhere better.

The Reporting Diagnostic
Two weeks, fixed scope, fixed fee. We trace how your numbers travel from each system to the decisions they feed, and tell you exactly where they stop agreeing with each other — before anyone commits to a build.
- A written findings report — where your systems disagree, and the specific definition or grain causing each divergence
- A reconciliation test against your accounting system, so you can see which figures currently tie out and which don't
- A target model sketch — the conformed dimensions and measures your reporting would need
- A costed, phased plan with what to fix first and what can wait
- An honest verdict on what you can fix internally, including the parts that don't need us
The report is yours either way. Several clients have taken it in-house and implemented it themselves — that's a legitimate outcome, and we'd rather you got the fix than the invoice.
A few questions first
These aren't gatekeeping — they let us give you something useful in our first reply rather than asking for a call to find out the basics. Only four are required; the rest just make our first answer sharper.

Best fit
This works best when your data is spread across several systems that don't agree with each other. If that's you, the about page sets out how we approach it — including who we're not the right fit for.
Questions we get asked first
Answered here so you don't have to book a call to find out.
What does an engagement cost?
Most engagements start with a fixed-scope, fixed-fee diagnostic, so you know the cost before any build begins. Platform builds are quoted as a fixed fee against a written scope once the diagnostic has established what's actually required.
We don't bill hourly for delivery work, and we don't start a build without a scope we've both signed off.
How long does a reporting build take?
The diagnostic takes about two weeks. A first governed model covering one subject area across the business typically takes six to twelve weeks, depending on how many source systems are involved and how clean the chart of accounts is.
Work is delivered in phases with sign-off at each milestone, so you see something working early rather than waiting for a single hand-over at the end.
Do we need to have bought Microsoft Fabric already?
No. Plenty of clients come in with Power BI Pro only, or with nothing at all. Part of the diagnostic is working out what licensing you actually need — which is often less than you'd be sold.
If you've already bought Fabric capacity and stalled, that's a very common starting point and not an embarrassing one.
What happens to our reporting if you're not available?
Everything is built so you aren't dependent on us. Report and model definitions live in the .pbip project format under Git version control, so every change is tracked and reversible. The design and metadata are documented in writing rather than held in one person's head, and your team is trained to run and extend it.
Your reporting doesn't live on a consultant's laptop.
Do you work with our existing IT or data team?
Yes, and it usually works better that way. We frequently work alongside an internal finance analyst or IT function, handing over the modelling and governance layer as it's built.
If you already have a Power BI developer, we're happy to set the architecture and standards and let them deliver against it.
Do you work remotely, or only in Canberra?
Both. We're based in Canberra and available onsite in the ACT. Most delivery is remote, and we work with clients across Australia, New Zealand and the United States.
We work Australian Eastern Standard Time and schedule calls to overlap where time zones differ.
Can you handle confidential or regulated data?
Yes. Our principal consultant is an Australian citizen based in Canberra and we sign NDAs as a matter of course. We've delivered compliance reporting for a local government program and outcome analysis for a healthcare provider.
Where possible we work inside your tenant rather than moving data out of it, and row-level security is designed in from the start rather than bolted on at the end.
What if we're a single-site business?
Our deepest work is with organisations whose data is spread across several systems, sites or entities. Single-site businesses are still worth a conversation, particularly for financial automation, Xero or QuickBooks integration, or cutting month-end down.
If your problem is smaller than what we do, we'll tell you that rather than scope it up.
Not sure whether it's worth the conversation?
Read a field note first. We publish what we've built and tested, including the parts we'd want fixed before putting them near a client's production process — which will tell you more about how we work than any pitch.
